Pop-Up Beginnings

If a bakeshop pops up in your kitchen and no one else is there to eat the baked goods...do you gain any weight?

Yes.  And that's why I started the Pop-Up Bakeshop.  I've loved baking ever since I was a child, but a year or two of sedentary living and home-made cookies within easy reach taught me that I really shouldn't eat everything that comes out of my oven - not by myself, anyway!  So I spread the wealth, sharing goodies with friends and bringing them to work for potlucks and bake sales.  "Have you ever considered selling these?" my co-workers asked.  At the time, no, but the idea stayed with me.  I've fantasized about running my own business for years.  Could I make a go of it?

Any lover of baked goods will admit that even the best grocery store or commercial bakery can't quite replicate the flavor and goodness of home baking.  But is there a market for a home-based micro-bakery?  And can I keep said micro-bakery afloat while holding down my day job?  Together the Pop-Up Bakeshop and I will find out.  Care to join me? Grab an apron, don your oven mitts, and away we go!
